Spring Trout Trips

Some of our biggest trout every year come to net as they leave the seclusion of their winter holds and begin feeding hard for the first time since pre-spawn. March-June offers great opportunities using a variety of approaches. If chasing migratory browns (like the one pictured) or steelhead on the Lake Erie and Ontario Tributaries is on your bucket list, Hatch Run Fly Fishing is currently permitted in NY/PA/OH. We have all that you need to create a memorable catch experience for you.

As the water temperatures rise, we enjoy focusing our efforts on the cold mountain streams within the Allegheny National Forest. Night fishing for big browns is always an option. The months of June-September are also our favorite time of year to pursue smallmouth bass. Flies and conventional spinning gear are the tools of choice.

Summertime Fishing

This time of year, pre/post spawn trout are on the hunt. Although this is our favorite time of year to target trout, it's not the most beginner friendly: cold hands are likely and keeping your head in the game is required. If you are looking for the fish of a lifetime and are up for a challenge, this is your time to shine. Conventional spinning gear opportunities available. Big fish are likely.
